Also, if stored in a warm place (above 20°C / 68°F), olive oil can start to degrade within a few months. Additionally, once opened, olive oil can start to lose its freshness after about 6 months. Even when stored correctly, olive oil has a limited shelf life. So, to prevent spoilage, store it in a cool, dark place in a tightly sealed, dark container. Once opened, it’s best consumed within 6 months, and ideally used within 18-24 months from bottling. Proper storage helps maintain its quality and flavour.
